Online Program on “A Multicultural Vision of World Development Prospect” Rounded Off

    On April 2nd, 2021, the online program on “A Multicultural Vision of World Development Prospect” organized by the Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University was rounded off. Wu Hao, Vice Dean of the Northeast Asian Research Center, Wang Yanjun, Vice Dean of the Northeast Asian Studies College, and Lu Hong, Deputy Director of LES Confucius Institute for Business London (LES CIBL), attended the program-completion ceremony and delivered a speech, with over 20 program students present.  

    In her speech, Deputy Director Lu Hong congratulated the 26 students who took the program as five teams on their successful completion of the online learning with distinction. Ms. Lu gave high praise to the students for their studious, positive and meticulous attitude to study and thought highly of their world view, communication skills and teamwork spirit displayed in the program. She noted that the end of the program was also a new beginning because the keynote speakers including first-class international scholars for the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), senior managers in the British financial community and well-known figures in the economic circle are all valuable resources and wealth for students in their future study and life planning. Ms. Lu briefed on the short-term visit program at LSE for doctoral students and hoped that there would be more opportunities to cooperate with Northeast Asian Research Center in the future, share global excellent academic resources and produce academic research results. Finally, she sincerely welcomed young faculty and doctoral students from the Northeast Asian Research Center to apply for LSE or CIBL programs.

    In his speech, Vice Dean Wu Hao highly affirmed the significance of the program as a high-level international academic exchange and dialogue platform. The program has improved the students’ English proficiency and cultivated their teamwork spirit in specific learning tasks including class presentation, WeChat communication, email contact, and problem solving. Thus, the program has not only broadened students’ international horizons and visions, but also promoted their international communication skills and competitiveness so as to equip them as outstanding young scholars and leaders. The learning experience will also exert a profound impact on teachers and students involved. Vice Dean Wu Hao expressed his expectations for future cooperation and hoped to further promote in-depth scientific research exchange and cooperation between scholars and students.

    Vice Dean Wu Hao issued certificates of completion to all the students.
