In early 2014, the Archives of Jilin Provincial unearthed a batch of historical archives left over from the Japanese invasion of China.The central leadership and relevant state departments requested that experts be organized as soon as possible to organize and research. On March 7, 2014, Jilin University established the "Research Center for the History of Japan's Invasion of China" at Jilin University, and signed a comprehensive cooperationagreement with the Jilin Provincial Archives(Bureau).Aresearch team composed of the Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University and the Archives of Jilin Province as the core was established, and a research team composed of more than 100 experts inside and outside the university was established to actively carry out the compilation and research of the archives of the Japanese Kwantung Army Gendarmerie in the Archives of Jilin Province and to undertake over ten national projects at all levels and of various forms which included the National Social Science Fund of China, the classification and sorting of Japanese files on the invasion of China, translation and reviews of the files on Japanese invasion of China, special studies on the crimes of Japanese invasion of China. The research team produced a batch of iconic research results such as policy consultation reports, academic papers, academic monographs, and photocopying and publishing of relevant archives. Successively published "Irrefutable Evidence"series of works, published more than 30 papers, submitted 8 consulting reports, and hosted 6 international and domestic academic conferences. All their wisdom and efforts lead to a significant social impact.

The Research Center for the History of Japan’s Invasion of China make full efforts tocollate and research the history of Japan’s invasion of China, vigorously promotes the construction of an academic echelon for talent training, strengthens extensive academic exchanges and cooperation with scholars from other countries, and expands the international influenceof the research on the history of Japanese invasion of China, increases the significance of the research on the history of World War II. Over the years, Northeast Asian Research Center has built an important platform for international exchanges and diplomatic think tanks in the archives of Japanese invasion of China and historical research.
