To deepen academic exchanges among young Chinese and Mongolian scholars and advance mutual learning between civilizations and people-to-people bonds, Jilin University recently hosted the Sino-Mongolian Youth Academic and Cultural Exchange Event.

The Center for Northeast Asian Studies and the Institute of Mongolian Studies of Jilin University organized two special panel discussions with young scholars and students from Mongolian institutions including the Ministry of Education of Mongolia, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Mongolia University of Life Sciences and Mongolian University of Science and Technology. Centered on core themes such as higher education cooperation, regional economic development, youth talent cultivation and cross-cultural exchange, the event built a robust bridge for young people of the two countries to learn from each other

Beyond academic seminars, accompanied by faculty and students from Jilin University, Mongolian young scholars visited Xinmin Avenue Historical and Cultural Block, the Memorial Hall of Distinguished Figures of Jilin University and the Huang Danian Memorial Hall. At Xinmin Avenue, the delegation gained direct insight into Changchun’s historical evolution and profound cultural heritage. At the two university memorial halls, they systematically learned about the university’s development history, fine academic traditions and the rich spiritual connotation of the Huang Danian Spirit.

In his closing summary, Professor Ba Dianjun stated that young people are vital inheritors of China-Mongolia friendship and a key driving force for sustained advancement of bilateral relations. Integrating consensus-building through academic dialogue and mutual understanding through cultural field trips, this event has created an important platform for Chinese and Mongolian youth to connect, understand and learn from one another, and played a positive role in advancing bilateral educational cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and regional collaborative development.
