On March 23, 2026, the School of Northeast Asian Studies held an exchange meeting for young faculty on National Social Science Fund project applications in Room 404, Dongrong Building. The meeting aimed to improve the quality of project applications, foster peer support among young teachers and facilitate academic communication.

Presided over by Vice Dean Cui Jian, the session featured five young faculty members — Zhou Kuo, Jing Jing, Zheng Di, Zheng Guoqiang and Xu Bo — who shared their experience and insights on topic selection, research framework design and application writing based on their successful track records of project approval, offering practical, actionable guidance to attendees.

Drawing on their application and approval experience, the participating teachers reached three consensus points: research topics must align with national strategies and personal research strengths while balancing forward-looking vision and academic rigor; arguments must feature rigorous logic and prominent innovations without redundant content; application manuscripts should be carefully polished with well-structured frameworks, and AI tools may be adopted to refine details and elevate overall quality.

Yang Liying explained the specifications of the revised application form, budget preparation and document submission procedures tailored to the school’s distinctive Northeast Asian research strengths. Vice Dean Cui encouraged young faculty to delve into regional and country studies, coordinate research planning and arranged follow-up work for project applications.

Featuring pragmatic content, the exchange meeting provided hands-on guidance for National Social Science Fund applications, helped faculty upgrade research capabilities and boosted high-quality development of the school’s research and disciplinary construction.
