From January 15 to 16, 2026, invited by the School of Northeast Asian Studies and the Institute of Russia, Jilin University, Professor Alexei Mamychev, Deputy Head of the Department of Political Science at Lomonosov Moscow State University and Kuang Yaming Chair Professor of Jilin University, delivered a series of academic lectures on the 4th floor of Dongrong Building, entitledNew Features of Russia’s Domestic Political DevelopmentandRussia’s Techno-Politics and Technological Sovereignty.
Professor Mamychev delivered two lectures centering on the evolution of Russia’s domestic politics and the development of technological sovereignty. The first lecture analyzed emerging characteristics of Russia’s political development, new ideological trends, and the profound impacts of reshaping traditional values on national development goals from the perspective of civilizational states. The second lecture reviewed the evolution of sovereignty amid global technological transformation, interpreted priorities for Russia’s technological sovereignty development, and illustrated the far-reaching influences of political and digital shifts on Russian society.
During the interactive session, faculty and students raised active questions on Russian conservatism, internal and external strategies, and China-Russia cooperation, to which the professor provided detailed responses. Professor Xu Bo delivered closing remarks and extended gratitude to the speaker.
As part of the High-End Forum on National and Regional Studies of Northeast Asia, this lecture series broadened the academic horizons of teachers and students, enhanced their capacity for regional research and international communication, and strengthened academic cooperation between the school and the Department of Political Science of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
