On August 25, 2025, Suzuki Shunichi, Director of the Tottori Glorious Creation Headquarters of Japan’s Tottori Prefecture, led a five-member delegation to visit the School of Northeast Asian Studies, Jilin University. Zheng Laibo, Fourth-level Researcher from the Secretariat of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jilin Provincial Party Committee, accompanied the visit.

Wu Hao, Dean of the School of Northeast Asian Studies, met with the delegation. Wang Li, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and international students from Tottori Prefecture studying at Jilin University also attended the discussion.
During the meeting, Dean Wu Hao extended a warm welcome and congratulated Suzuki Shunichi on his new appointment. He briefed the guests on the school’s development and its international exchanges with Northeast Asian countries in recent years. Reviewing the long-standing friendly relations and fruitful cooperation between the school and Tottori Prefecture, he hoped both sides would deepen ties and explore new cooperation areas for mutual progress.
Suzuki Shunichi introduced cooperation between Tottori Prefecture and Jilin Province as well as Jilin University. He believed the two sides enjoy great potential for collaboration in economy, culture, social development and regional coordination, and called for closer cooperation.
The two sides also held in-depth discussions on population aging and low birth rates. They agreed to strengthen field researches between cities, further expand exchanges and reach more consensus in the future.
