On May 14, 2025, Xu Bo, Second-Level Researcher of the Yantai Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, led a research delegation to visit the Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University. Professor Cui Jian, Vice Dean of the Northeast Asian Research Institute, presided over the symposium and extended a warm welcome to the delegation.

During the meeting, Xu Bo elaborated on the research purpose of building a high-quality China-Japan-ROK Innovation Cooperation Center. Professor Cui Jian introduced the disciplinary strengths and research transformation achievements of the Northeast Asian Research Institute in country and regional studies. Both sides watched a special promotional video showcasing the institute’s 30-year development progress and think tank construction accomplishments. The visit laid an important foundation for establishing a regular industry-university-research cooperation mechanism between the two sides.

In the thematic discussion session, Xu Bo and Chen Jun from the Yantai Science and Technology Innovation Center conducted in-depth discussions with scholars from the Northeast Asian Research Center on the construction of the China-Japan-ROK Innovation Cooperation Center and think tank development. Professor Zhang Huizhi stressed the necessity of establishing an enterprise demand-oriented mechanism and building a regular exchange platform. Professor Piao Yingai proposed constructing a systematic technology transfer channel to drive regional collaborative innovation. Professor Wang Xiaoke pointed out that building a cross-border data sharing system is essential to consolidate the foundation of trilateral cooperation.

The two sides reached extensive consensus on center development and think tank construction. Both parties agreed to further strengthen pragmatic cooperation in the future and contribute to the high-quality development of China-Japan-ROK innovative cooperation.
