On the afternoon of January 24, as the Lunar Spring Festival approached, Zhu Guoxian, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and his entourage visited Jilin University to extend festive greetings to Professor Wang Shengjin, Distinguished Senior Professor of Philosophy and Social Sciences at Jilin University. Jiang Zhiying, Party Secretary of Jilin University, and Cai Lidong, Member of the University Party Standing Committee and Executive Vice President, accompanied the visit.
At Room 413, Dongrong Building on the Central Campus, Zhu Guoxian held in-depth talks with Wang Shengjin and listened carefully to his latest research outcomes and key research focuses. Zhu Guoxian noted that Professor Wang has long devoted himself to research on Northeast Asian regional economy and related issues, making vital contributions to advancing Jilin’s opening-up and the economic and social development of Northeast Asia. He expressed the hope that Professor Wang and his research team will continue to conduct forward-looking, strategic and systematic research on major practical issues concerning Northeast Asian regional development, accurately identify core research orientations and key fields, keep contributing to Jilin’s opening-up and cooperation, and offer intellectual support for the comprehensive revitalization of Jilin Province.
Wang Shengjin expressed sincere gratitude for the visit and paid high tribute to the Jilin Provincial CPPCC for its consistent care and support. He elaborated on the compilation process of the book seriesIronclad Evidence: Collections of Monthly Postal Censorship Reports on Japanese Aggression against China Preserved in Jilin Provincial Archives, laying special emphasis on the great value of this compilation project. Meanwhile, Wang Shengjin pledged to spare no effort in promoting the internationalization of academic achievements so as to fuel the development of Northeast Asia with intellectual insights.
Jiang Zhiying extended heartfelt thanks to the Jilin Provincial CPPCC for its generous support and long-term care for the development of Jilin University. He stated that Jilin University will keep responding to national and local development needs, strive to act as the pacesetter among universities in Jilin, cultivate more high-caliber talents and produce more high-level research achievements, and pool the wisdom and strength of all JLU faculty and students for the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China. On behalf of the University Party Committee and President Zhang Xi, Jiang Zhiying sent festive greetings to Professor Wang Shengjin.
