To boost China’s high-standard opening-up and better provide policy consultation services for national strategies as well as local socio-economic development, Professor Baiyin Mend, President of the China-Mongolia Research Association and Director of the Mongolia Research Center of Inner Mongolia University, led a delegation to conduct a research visit to the Northeast Asia Research Center of Jilin University on May 18, 2023. Professor Ba Dianjun, Deputy Director of the Northeast Asia Research Center of Jilin University, presided over the forum and introduced the basic overview of the center. Professor Yu Xiao, another Deputy Director of the center, briefly presented the research progress on Mongolia-related studies at Jilin University in recent years.

During the research forum, Professor Baiyin Mend shared the historical evolution and development progress of the China-Mongolia Research Association and the Mongolia Research Center of Inner Mongolia University. He issued the Council Member Unit Certificate of the China-Mongolia Research Association to the Northeast Asia Research Center of Jilin University, expressing the hope that the two sides could jointly build a high-end think tank brand for Mongolian studies in China. Professor Yu Xiao extended a warm welcome to Professor Baiyin Mend and his delegation. He stated that the Northeast Asia Research Center would further strengthen research on Mongolia-related issues, fulfill the responsibilities and obligations as a council member unit of the China-Mongolia Research Association, and jointly contribute to the high-quality development of Mongolian studies.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics including strengthening interactive exchanges and cooperation, launching joint research projects, and joint student training. Associate Professor Yaru, Executive Vice President of the China-Mongolia Research Association and Director of the Office of the Mongolia Research Center of Inner Mongolia University, Baiyin Jirigala, Vice President of the China-Mongolia Research Association, and Ma He, Deputy Director of the Northeast Asia Research Center of Jilin University, attended the research forum together.
