On the morning of July 22nd, 2021, the seminar on Spatial Demography Theory Innovation and a New Round of Northeast China Revitalization Strategy, co-hosted by the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University (JLU), the Regional Science Association of China and the National Economic Geography Research Association, and undertaken by the Northeast Asian Studies College of JLU, was held in Jilin University. Combining face-to-face and online options, the seminar was attended by more than 70 experts and scholars from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Institute of Strategy Research for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other units.
Professor Yao Yuchun, Head of the Office of Humanities and Social Sciences Research of JLU, Professor Shen Tiyan, Vice President of the Regional Science Association of China, Professor Zhao Zuoquan, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Strategy Research for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Professor Zhang Yaojun, Deputy Dean of the School of Sociology and Population Studies of Renmin University of China, and Professor Zhao Ruyu of the Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University attended the seminar. At the opening ceremony of the conference, Professor Yao Yuchun and Professor Shen Tiyan delivered speeches respectively. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Qiu Song, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Northeast Asian Studies College of JLU.
During the keynote presentation, Professor Zhao Zuoquan, Professor Zhang Yaojun, Professor Shen Tiyan and Professor Zhao Ruyu gave keynote speeches respectively, which were chaired by Professor Yu Xiao of the Northeast Asian Research Center of JLU.
On the afternoon of July 22nd, two sub-forums were held in sub-forum 1: Innovation in Spatial Demography Theory, and sub-forum 2:New Round of Northeast Revitalization Strategy. After the keynote speeches, experts and scholars expressed their views on related issues and had heated discussions and exchanges.
This seminar combines the cutting edge of geographic information big data system and spatial analysis technology development, and focuses on the development and application of spatial analysis technology, population outflow, aging, low fertility, revitalization policy evaluation, revitalization leverage points and other topics in Northeast China, providing intellectual support for spatial demographic theoretical innovation and a new round of revitalization in Northeast China.
