Seminar on The situation on the Korean Peninsula after the Conflict in Ukraine Held Successfully

    On November 4th, 2022, the international symposium on The Situation on the Korean Peninsula after the Conflict in Ukraine hosted by the Center for Korean Studies at Ritsumeikan University in Japan was successfully held online.

    Professor Zhang Huizhi, Deputy Director of the Northeast Asian Research Center and Director of the Institute of Korean Peninsular Studies of Jilin University, Professor Katsumura Makoto, Director of the Center for Korean Studies at Ritsumeikan University, Professor Kim Yong-hyun, Director of the Department for North Korean Studies at Dongguk University, and Professor Kao Youhwan, President of the Korea Institute for National Unification, delivered opening speeches. More than 20 Chinese and Korean experts and scholars from Jilin University, Fudan University, Dongguk University, Washi University, Soka University, Ritsumeikan University and other institutions in South Korea attended the conference and had in-depth exchanges on economic, social and security issues on the Korean Peninsula. Professor Zhang Huizhi, Associate Professor Xuan Chunji, Associate Professor Wang Xiaoke and Associate Professor Jin Xiangdan from the Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University attended the conference and made presentations.

    The meeting was an important result of the institutionalized cooperation among Jilin University, Ritsumeikan University and Dongguk University. The heads of the institutions concerned highly valued the continuous, solid and fruitful cooperation among the three parties and expressed their commitment to continue to promote the deepening of this cooperative relationship and contribute to the development of Sino-Japanese cooperation.
