Biography:
Yanzhe was born in 1981, in Benxi city Liaoning Province, China. He obtained a bachelor degree in Business Administration at University of Sunderland in 2003 (Supervised by Professor Jeff Evans). He completed a degree of Master in Public Administration and Public Policy in University of York (Supervised by Professor Mark Evans) in 2005. It is worthy to note that Yanzhe also obtained a degree of Project Management in University of Sunderland in 2005. Hereafter, Yanzhe worked as Lecture at Sun Wah International Business School at Liaoning University from 2007-2011. In 2010, Yanzhe started to work at Australia and New Zealand School of Government, Institute of Governance at University Canberra, Australia as the research fellow, and did his Phd under the supervision of Professor Mark Evans who was the head in the Department of Politics at University of York, UK. In 2014, Yanzhe had completed his Phd in Government and promoted to the senior research fellow in the Institute of Governance and Policy Analysis at University of Canberra. He also worked as director in the Executive Training Program to China National Audit Office. In 2016, Yanzhe was back to China and started his work in Jilin University.
Research Interest:
Yanzhe Zhang is an Associate Professor of Northeast Asian Studies College at Jilin University, China. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at Australia-New Zealand School of Government, Institute for Governance. Thus, he works as a Senior Research Fellow at Institute of Governance and Policy Analysis at University of Canberra (Australia). Yanzhe is also the coordinator of Australia- China Public Administration and Governance Program. Yanzhe is the designer of senior executive training program for Australian National Audit Office and China National Audit Office. He is an expert on public sector governance with a particular emphasis on citizen-centric governance. Yanzhe’s research has centered on: a) evaluating the role, real and potential, of policy transfer in institution-building in developed and developing areas; b) studying the nature and impact of administrative reform in developed and transition states; c) evaluating state policy responses to processes of globalization; and, d) evaluating critical issues in Australian and Chinese governance. The research theme that binds all of these areas together is his interest in public sector institution-building and processes of governance.
